The word is out, although the official announcement has not yet been madeâ€¦

Robb Montgomery is leaving the Chicago Sun-Times to become a full-time redesign/tab consultant and to devote more time to his baby, VisualEditors.com.

Iâ€™m sure heâ€™ll share more info with us soon: For example, his first official client is a return customer: Clarity Media Group, owners of The Examiner chain of free tab papers.

I'm off to San Francisco for a few days next week and my last official act as a Sun-Times editor will be next Friday, Nov. 11 giving a presentation to student journalists. There is a massive High School Student Journalism group meeting in Chicago next weekend. 6,000 kids will be attending from all corners. Could you imagine putting a show THAT big? Wow - I'm very honored to represent the paper one last time.

Dude,

Congratulations on taking the leap to working on your passions full-time, away from the strum and drang of daily newspapering. And kudos for the amazing work you have already done on VisualEditors.com. I can't even imagine what will be next ...

Hope to see you in the Bay Area, or maybe I will even fly in for a Chicago party!
