While a good majority of us were sleeping, VizEds' leading poster, Charles "Don't Call Me Chucky" Apple reached another impressive career milestone ... he achieved his 2000th post here at VizEds!

Instead of "Y2K," you might be asking, "WHY 2K?!?"

Why? Because Charles loves you, that's why. Even though he's been accused of padding his stats by dropping posts on us about VizEds members' birthdays, he's doing it out of love. And if not for the infamous VizEds Housekeeping Scandal of 2005, Charles would've gone over two grand long ago.

So keep those posts coming, Charles. You're our Iron Man.

Yeah - the 'infamous housekeeping scandal' - otherwise known as - 'Robb's Big Screwup" (Still sorry, Charlie!)

OH,and Remember - Charles is using DIAL-UP, folks. And I believe it's some Win98 PC Laptop with a tiny screen and slow processor, too. . .

If that doesn't make you feel inferior just know he would be doing this type of stuff anyway for someone else and probably getting PAID. We are lucky he is doing it for us gratis.

Now I've promised Charles privately that when VizEds is on it's financial feet that he should please let VizEeds provide him with Broadband service at no charge to him. Isn't that the least we can do?

If anyone has a non-profit contact at Apple - PM me.
It would be nice to provide him with a complimentary Apple iBook or Pbook before he reaches 3,000!

Whaddya say? I'm making an executive decision and will turn the VizEds portion of the Oscar pool (and soon, I'm sure to follow - the NCAA pool) proceeds over to Apple fundraiser.

Now I'm looking for matching donations.

PM me if you would like to donate to this worthwhile effort. where would VizEds Be without superheros like Charles keeping us up-to-date?

Aw, man. You're really funny.

For the record, even when the owner of the site kills several hundred posts in a twitch of a booger-encased finger (but noooo, I'm not holding a grudge!), the VizEds odometer still remembers every post. So that 2006 (as of a moment ago) is accurate. Even if you can only find 896 of them on the site right now.

Actually, I'm planning to upgrade to a Commodore 64 this spring.

We live so far out in southeastern Virginia Beach that our choices are limited.

hmm maybe if enough of us signed up for the free minimac thing we could get charles a new computer? or if we got Robb a few he could put them up on Ebay to auction for this site. Would that be legal? dunno about the logistics - just a thought.
